Testing Foundations for Developers
Time: 09:00 – 10:00 CET
Presented by: Jürgen Beniermann, Erhardt Wunderlich and Elke Mai
Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deloyment, testing in the agile team, Unittest – everywhere one meets “the test”. But what does that actually mean – “the test”? In this lecture, we want to introduce some topics that a developer will also encounter in the various projects on the topic of testing and show how developers can improve the quality of code and architecture.
But often the necessary test expertise is missing in the development team. The brand-new course “Testing Foundations for Developers” (A4Q-TF4D), a cooperation between A4Q and the GTB, provides a remedy here.
Crossing DevOps Chasm – Why DevOps Initiatives fail and the capabilities adapted by high performing organizations
Time: 10:00 – 14:00 CET
Presented by: Hari Krishnan Gurumoorthi
DevOps has crossed the chasm, and many organizations across different industries have adopted DevOps is one form or the other as a panacea to digital transformation. As per the accelerate State of DevOps 2019 report, high performing companies who are successful in software delivery and
operational performance „start with the foundations and then adopt a continuous improvement mindset by identifying unique constraints (or a set of constraints). Once these constraints to longer hold them back, repeat the process.“
Our Certified DevOps portfolio provides the breadth of knowledge and best practices currently applied by high performing organizations to build the software delivery and operational performance capability holistically. This portfolio helps to understand key challenges and drivers for DevOps adoption, principles, and practices to be used throughout the journey, and the capabilities that would remove the constraints and continuously improve the value delivery.
TMAP: Quality engineering
Time: 14:00 – 18:00 CET
Presented by: Rik Marselis
Business people want IT people to continuously deliver quality at speed to deliver business value. The “TMAP body of knowledge for quality engineering” supports the people involved in today’s high-performance IT delivery (such as Agile, Scrum, DevOps) in creating fit-for-purpose solutions and using testing to gather information (based on indicators) about quality and risks.
This practical hands-on workshop gives you a preview of some subjects from the TMAP certification training courses.
This 3-hour workshop starts with the concept of “built-in quality” and how the VOICE model and the quality engineering topics support cross-functional IT delivery teams. Then you will practice with some code coverage types for unit testing and how mutation testing can improve the test set. In the second half of the workshop, you will practice the “path testing” test design technique and experience how you can achieve a relatively small set of test cases with a good coverage. You will use a practical excel-template to work out these test cases.
